Information
We primarily serve UP Manila students, faculty, and staff, but anyone can ask a library-related question.
We specialize in information about library resources, facilities, and services. We also answer questions and comments about library-supported technologies, including our website and online resources. We work to answer all questions. If we can’t answer your question, we’ll refer you to someone who can.

Chat-A-Librarian
Electronic Reference Aide (eRA)
A digital reference service that will mediate between the patron and information. eRA will fill in the gaps in knowledge by evaluating, searching, and supplying the information needs of the patron.
You can chat with us using this enhanced feature of the website. Live chat is active during normal working hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM). When eRA is offline, inquiries will be forwarded to the library's email ([email protected]). We respond promptly within an hour except for holidays and weekends. More complex inquiries may take longer to answer and it is necessary to consult several resources and libraries. Rest assured that you’ll receive an update from time to time.
Privacy Notice
This service requires users to give personal information such as full name, college, and email during correspondence. The information collected shall be used solely for the purpose of the reference inquiry and shall not be transferred to other parties or entities that are not necessary for the transaction.
Current Awareness Services
We regularly update the library website and our social media accounts with the latest news, announcements, events, and resources. We also disseminate Current Awareness Services through an email blast via IPPAO.
